DeRosa Named to NA3HL 18U All-Star Team

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies have announced forward Matt DeRosa has been named to the North American 3 Hockey League 18U All-Star Team. The team will play in an 18U Top Prospects Tournament which will be held in cooperation with the 2019 NAHL Robertson Cup Championship. The tournament will take place from May 10-12 at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, MN.

The NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament consists of ten different teams made up of 18U players, including two from the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL), one from the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), two from the Tier 1 Elite League (T1EHL), one from Michigan Tier I AAA, one from Minnesota High School Hockey, one from the Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL), and one European stars team.

The 2018-19 season was DeRosa’s first in the NA3HL. The Alpharetta, GA native finished third on the team in scoring with 46 points (23 G, 23 A) in 46 games played. DeRosa led the Grizzlies with a plus-37 on the season. He also added two goals in three Fraser Cup Playoff games.

DeRosa saw time with the Austin Bruins (NAHL) this season, as well. He played three games with the Bruins: Feb. 15 vs Minot, March 28 at Brookings and March 30 at Aberdeen. DeRosa joined the Bruins at the end of the Grizzlies season.
