Rochester native Rocco Corl joins this week’s Grizz Spotlight after reaching a major junior hockey milestone, his 100th NA3HL game.
The milestone became even more memorable when Corl scored his first goal as a Rochester Grizzly with his family in attendance. For a player who grew up going to Grizzlies games and dreamed of one day wearing the sweater himself, the moment was especially meaningful.
Corl also talks about becoming one of Rochester’s go-to players in the faceoff circle, a skill he developed after transitioning from wing to center late in his high school career. He shares what goes into winning draws, including repetition, timing, quickness and a little bit of grit.
Away from the rink, fans get to know Rocco through his Top Dogs, including hockey classics Miracle and Slap Shot, Star Wars, Metallica, fishing, hunting and his sports card collection.
He also shares his thoughts on the Grizzlies as the season develops and what he hopes to contribute as Rochester works toward its goals.
