CALL UP: Fodstad Called up by Minnesota Wilderness

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League are proud to announce forward Joey Fodstad has been called up by the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League. He will join the team for their road trip to Minot this weekend. Fodstad’s call up to the NAHL is the first for him and he’s the third Grizzly player to be called up to the Wilderness this season. Michael Heitkamp and Porter Haney each played a game with the Wilderness this season.

Fodstad, 19, is in his second season with the Grizzlies. Last year, he finished with 20 goals and 11 assists in 41 games. This season, Fodstad is leading the Grizzlies in points with 39 (20 goals, 19 assists) in 28 games. The Rogers, MN, native is also plus-42 which is a team best.

Fodstad is the sixth Grizzlies player to see time with an NAHL team this season. Logan Olson, Peyton Hart, Matt DeRosa, Heitkamp and Haney have all played at least one game with an NAHL team.

The Grizzlies will be without Fodstad for their home weekend series against the Milwaukee Power. Friday and Saturday’s games are set for a 7 PM puck drop with doors opening at 6 PM. Fans can contact the Grizzlies’ front office for ticket information at 507-722-0415.
