CALL UPS: Fodstad, Guerin Set to Join NAHL Clubs

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League are proud to announce forward Joey Fodstad has been called up by the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League and is set to join them for Friday’s game at home. Also, goalie Sean Guerin will join the Minot Minotauros as an emergency backup for Friday’s game in Austin against the Bruins. This marks the second straight weekend Fodstad has been called up to the Wilderness. This is Guerin’s first call up to an NAHL team this season.

Fodstad appeared in two games with the Wilderness on the road last weekend against Minot. He was held pointless but registered two shots on the weekend. On the season, he is the Grizzlies’ leading scorer with 20 goals and 19 assists. The Rogers, MN, native is in his second season with Rochester and already has matched his goal output from last season. The Wilderness are home tonight against the Bismarck Bobcats.

Guerin, 17, has done well as part of a solid trio of goalies for Rochester this season. The Oak Lawn, IL, native is 5-2-1 on the season with one shutout, which came last weekend against Milwaukee. He sports a goals against average of 2.31.

The rest of the Grizzlies have Friday night off with the recent announcement their game against Alexandria at home has been postponed due to impending weather. A make-up date has not been announced as of now. Fans who have tickets for Friday’s game can redeem them at any other Grizzlies home game with the exception of Pink in the Rink Night set for Saturday, February 1st. Rochester’s next home game is slated for Monday at 1 PM against Coulee Region. It is the Grizzlies’ Healthy Habits Game sponsored by McDonald’s. All students are just $5 admission for that game.
