CALLED UP: Haney Called Up to Play with Minnesota Wilderness

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League have announced forward Porter Haney has been called up to the Minnesota Wilderness of the North American Hockey League. He is expected to make his NAHL debut Tuesday evening in the Wilderness’ home game against St. Cloud. This marks Haney’s first call up to the NAHL.

Haney, 20, is in his second season with the Grizzlies. As a rookie in 2018-19, he finished with 31 points (eight goals, 23 assists) in 46 games played. This season he has already eclipsed his point total from last year. Through 27 games, Haney sits second on the Grizzlies in points with 32 (11 goals, 21 assists).

Prior to joining the Grizzlies, the Duluth, MN native played high school hockey at Duluth East. He will be close to home for his NAHL debut as the Wildnerness play in Cloquet, MN, which is roughly 20 minutes outside of Duluth.

The Grizzlies have their final home game of the 2019 calendar year set for Tuesday evening as the Wausau RiverWolves come to town. Puck drop is set for 7 PM with doors opening at 6 PM. Fans can win door prizes at the game and enjoy two for $5 beer specials.
