Rochester Grizzlies forward and captain Konnor Goclan has been named the NA3HL Central Division Star of the Week following a four-point weekend against the Wausau Cyclones.
Goclan helped lead the Grizzlies to a weekend sweep, finding the scoresheet in both games.
On Friday night, Goclan opened the scoring and later added an assist as Rochester earned a 7-3 victory over Wausau. He followed it up with another big performance Saturday, scoring twice in the Grizzlies’ 4-1 win. Goclan once again opened the scoring before adding an empty-net goal to close out the victory and complete the weekend sweep.
The veteran forward finished the two-game series with three goals and one assist and was named the First Star of Saturday night’s game.
Grizzlies Head Coach Marty Raymond praised Goclan’s impact both on and off the scoresheet.
“Konnor Goclan is a leader on our team not only for his captain status, but simply because he plays the right way on both sides of the ice,” Raymond told the NA3HL. “He had a great weekend, leading our squad against a very good Wausau team. We are happy for his league recognition today and pleased to have him on our side.”
The NA3HL’s weekly Divisional Stars of the Week recognize top-performing players from each division based on nominations submitted by the league’s head coaches.
