Grizzlies Add Depth to Roster with Leisen, Jirovec

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies have added two new players to the team: forward Nic Leisen and defenseman Stepan Jirovec. Both players have already dressed in three games with the team, with Leisen registering four points (3 G, 1 A) and Jirovec adding an assist.

Leisen, a 6’2/185 lbs. native of Kasson, MN, has played the last three seasons with the Iowa Wild AAA program. In the 2016-17 season, he put up six points (3 G, 3 A) in 32 games with the Wild AAA U18 program in the Tier 1 Elite Hockey League (T1EHL) U18. Leisen then went on to put up six points (4G, 2A) in four playoff games.

The following season, Leisen, 19, improved in the scoring department. He tripled his production in points, totaling 18 points (10G, 8A) in 36 games with the Wild. Leisen also added 69 PIM to go along with the 18 points.

Jirovec, 19, is a native of Czech Republic. The 6’0/159 lbs. defenseman spent the 2017-18 season with the Seattle Totems of the Western States Hockey League putting up 24 points (5G, 19A) in 48 games played.
