Grizzlies Bounce Back after Rough Friday Night, Beating Peoria 6-2

Rochester, MN  –  The Grizzlies returned to the Ice Saturday Night seeking revenge after an upset loss on Friday Night, losing to the 1-16 Peoria team, 7-4. Saturday Night turned out to be the night the team needed and turned it around winning 6-2 behind a 54 shot effort.

It was Nickelson Painting Youth Hockey Night at the Rochester Rec Center as the Grizzlies took on the Peoria Mustangs on Saturday. The Grizzlies started fast in the first period as Twanne Haisma, playing the Center position for the first time in his hockey career, got the scoring started 3 minutes in, off a pass from Baylor Stebbins and Konnor Goclan. 3 minutes later the Grizzlies found the back of the net again as Baylor Stebbins beat Kaczmarczyk to make it 2-0 and it would remain that way into the intermission.

The Second period started the same as the first with Mason Decker scoring 2 minutes in, making it 3-0. Halfway through the period the Birthday Boy, Tyler Steuck, scored his 3rd in 5 games. Aiden Emerich ended the scoring in the second making it 5-0 going into the 3rd.

Feliz Wadstromer would mark the final tally of the night for the Grizzlies, getting his first NA3HL goal off of a pass to the backdoor from Aiden Emerich. The Mustangs would tally 2 late goals from Colten Cox and Skylar Tompkins making the final score 6-2.

In his first game with the Grizzlies, Austin Durkop, stopped 15 of 17 and earned his first win of the season!

The Grizzlies will play on Black Friday(29th) in West Bend, then turn around, come home and play the Power at home on the 30th. There will be a Salvation Army Food Drive on the 30th. By bringing 3 non-perishable food items, you will be eligible for a $5 ticket for the game!
