Rochester, MN — The Grizzlies came into tonight 4th place in the Central Divison ahead of their matchup with the 5th place Jr.Blues. The hope for the night was to begin the 4 game homestand on a strong note, But it did not start how the Grizzlies would have wanted.
1st Period was not pretty for the Grizzlies, with 3 goals let in by the Grizzlies coming from Coldwater(5), Reuss(7), and Davis(9) on St. Louis. The fear of a third loss in a row swept across the rink with just 20 minutes gone in the night. Joey Bertram would be pulled after the 3rd went in, and Austin Durkop would finish the game for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies came out guns blazing in the 2nd, with 2 goals(Parent(7), and Woods(6)) in the first 6 minutes of the period to draw within 1 of the Blues. 3 seconds after Woods goal, Brady Cook(3) would beat Durkop and gain back the Blues 2 goal lead. 3 Minutes later Tyler Steuck(10) would beat Visvadra and have the Grizzlies within 1 at the Intermission.
Almost 15 minutes went by in the 3rd before you would see a goal at the Rec Center, but Mason Decker(15) would finally close the gap and tie the game with 5 to go in the period. The game would go to Overtime for the 7th time this season for the Grizzlies!
After countless chances, in what seemed like a dominate overtime period, from the Grizzlies, Tyler Steuck(11) would play hero and score his second of the night off the right post, beating Visvadra, and sealing the comeback for the Grizzlies and the 2 points.
