Jan 27, 2020

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Rochester Grizzlies of the North American 3 Hockey League have announced defenseman Luke McKinch will practice with the Maryland Black Bears of the North American League this week. This marks the second time McKinch has been called up to practice with an NAHL team, as he previously skated with the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.

McKinch, 18, is in his first season with the Grizzlies. The Plymouth, WI, native has appeared in 32 games and tallied eight points, all assists. McKinch is also plus-20 on the season. Prior to coming to the Grizzlies, he amassed 69 points in his three seasons at Sheboygan High School.

Rochester is back home this Saturday for its second annual Pink in the Rink Night. Players will be wearing custom jerseys for the game which will be auctioned off immediately following the game. Part of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to Mayo Clinic. There will also be tee shirts for sale which are designed just like the player jerseys. Fans can also participate in a punch-a-prize game where they’ll have a chance to win prizes from our great sponsors. Proceeds collected from the latter two will be donated to Mayo Clinic, as well. For more information on Pink in the Rink, call the Grizzlies’ front office during office hours (9 AM-5 PM) at 507-722-0415.
