Rochester, MInn. – The Rochester Grizzlies are proud to announce that goaltender Nick Kurtiak has committed to continue his hockey and academic career at Purdue Northwest University (ACHA Division I).
Kurtiak was a steady presence between the pipes during his time in Rochester, spending two of his three junior seasons with the Grizzlies and establishing himself as a reliable, battle-tested goaltender. Over that span, he compiled an impressive 27-12-1 record, along with a 2.72 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage.
Known for his compete level, composure, and ability to come up with key saves in big moments, Kurtiak played a crucial role in the Grizzlies’ success during his tenure. Whether it was a divisional matchup or a high-pressure playoff push, Kurty was a go-to option the team could trust night in and night out.
His development path; spending time in Rochester and continuing to grow with additional junior experience in Canada, has prepared him well for the next step at the ACHA Division I level, where he’ll look to make an immediate impact with Purdue Northwest.
Kurtiak becomes the latest Grizzlies player to advance to the collegiate level, continuing a strong tradition of development within the organization.
Congratulations, Kurty! We’re excited to see what’s next.
