Jul 30, 2019

ROCHESTER, Minn. – New season, new division.

After a successful first season, which saw the Rochester Grizzlies finish third in the West Division with a record of 31-15-1-0, the team is moving to the North American 3 Hockey League’s Central Division starting in 2019-20.

Rochester will be the sixth team in the Central Division, joining the likes of the St. Louis Jr. Blues, Peoria Mustangs, Milwaukee Power, Coulee Region Chill and Wausau RiverWolves. Out of the six teams, Rochester only played Coulee Region and Peoria last season. The Grizzlies went 3-1 against the Chill and 0-1 against the Mustangs, a game played in the NA3HL Showcase Tournament.

The Grizzlies will still see some familiar foes from the West Division this upcoming season. Granite City, Alexandria and North Iowa are all on the schedule for the upcoming season, the first for new head coach Chris Ratzloff.

The season opener is slated for September 13 on the road against Milwaukee before heading to Peoria the next day to play the Mustangs. Rochester’s home opener is September 20 taking on Wausau at 7pm from the Rochester Recreation Center.

With the new season just about a month and a half away, the Grizzlies want to remind fans season tickets and group packs are available. Season tickets start as low as $150 while 10-game packs are just $80. For more information on tickets, call the Grizzlies front office at 507-722-0415.
