ROCHESTER, Minn. – Hockey is one step closer to dropping the puck at the Rochester Rec Center this season after the NA3HL announced that the regular season will begin on October 2, 2020.

“We are excited to be moving forward with a return to play date. Our number one priority remains returning to the ice this fall in the safest manner possible for everyone in our hockey community and we believe that October 2nd is a realistic date to achieve that goal,” said NA3HL Commissioner Blake Macnicol. “We will be closely following and monitoring the situation with the NAHL and with our hockey partners to develop the most current return to play guidelines as possible.”

The NA3HL will begin one week before its sibling league the NAHL, and unlike the NAHL, the NA3HL won’t see any disruptions to league-wide events. In addition to the start date, the NA3HL also announced the dates for major season events. The annual NA3HL Showcase will take place from December 20-22. 2020 at the Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota, while the NA3HL Trop Prospects Tournament will be held on February 8 and 9 in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and the 2021 Fraser Cup is scheduled for March 31-April 4 in Chicago, Illinois.

As for the Grizzlies, many players will be competing this week in Austin as part of the Bruins Main Camp. Many former and future Grizzlies will have the chance to make the Bruins roster with a good showing in camp. The final 40-50 players from the Bruins camp will battle it out in front of fans at Riverside Arena on Friday, July 31 at 7:05. That game is your first to see some future Grizzlies in action. Tickets are $10 and available now by calling the Bruins front office at 507-434-4978.

For players who don’t make the Bruins final roster, they’ll have the option to jump into the Grizzlies main camp which takes place in Rochester from August 21-23.
