Rochester, MN — Looking for their 2nd sweep in the same amount of weeks, the Grizzlies came into the night with high spirits, ready to go. THe Grizzlies would take on Peoria for their second of a back-to-back with the Mustangs, and the 6th matchup of the year. The Grizz Enter the night 21-10-2-2 and the Mustangs 9-26-0-0. After a 5-2 win yesterday, the expectation was nothing short of of the same.
The first period started off slow for both teams, with not much action through the entire period until the Grizzlies Isaac Flatley(10) would battle through 3 Peoria players and take a shot and find the back of the net taking the Grizzlies to intermission with a 1-0 lead!
A scoring explosion would be the only way to describe the rest of the game after the first period, as 3 goals in the second period from Woods(8), Emerich(8), and Flatley(11) would beat the Peoria Goaltender to take the Grizzlies to the break up 4-0.
Aiden Emerich(9) would score his second of the game, 1 minute into the 3rd period, making it 5-0. Then none other than Tyler Steuck(16) would score less than a minute later for his 5th of the weekend for the 6-0 lead. Baylor Stebbins(4) would tap a rebound in to make it 7-0, and then Isaac Flatley(12) would Complete his Hat-Trick with 3 minutes left in the game! The Final score would be 8-0, with 13 players finding the scoresheet, and Austin Durkop stopping 19 of 19 for his first shutout of the season!
The Grizzlies head to West Bend Next weekend for a pivotal matchup with the power. The Power are in 1st place, and the Grizzlies have the chance to shorten the lead they have on the division down to 4 points.
