Jake Laurila Announces Commitment to UW-Eau Claire

ROCHESTER, MN –The Rochester Grizzlies, proud members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to share that defensemen Jake Laurila has announced his commitment to continue his education and play NCAA Division III hockey at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Laurila, 20, started the 2021-22 season with the Rochester Grizzlies where he appeared in 24 games. During that time, Laurila would make a big impact on the blue line for the eventual Fraser Cup Champions as he would amass 3G-9A-12p. With his hot start to the season, Jake would in turn be called up to the Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League where he would appear in 24 games and tally an assist.

The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is a public university located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The BluGolds compete at the NCAA DIII level and are members of the WIAC (Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and play their games at Hobbs Ice Center.
