Jan 15, 2020

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The North American 3 Hockey League has announced Rochester Grizzlies forward Dylan Schneider as the Central Division Star of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2020. He’s the third Grizzly to win the award this season as Mathias Backstrom and Peyton Hart have also won. Lucas Newman was given an honorable mention for his performance this past weekend, as well.

A Rochester, MN, native, Schneider has spent the past few seasons with the Shattuck St. Mary’s program. He finished this past weekend, and his first two games with the Grizzlies, tallying seven points (three goals, four assists) in wins over Milwaukee. He had a goal and three assists in Friday’s 9-0 win and then added two goals and an assist in a 7-0 victory Saturday. His seven points over the weekend had him tied with Newman for the most on the team.

The Grizzlies have three games in four days starting Friday at home against the Alexandria Blizzard. Friday, the Grizzlies will be celebrating Hockey Day in Minnesota, as any kid who wears their youth hockey jersey to the game gets free admission with a paid adult. Doors open at 6 PM for Friday’s game. Saturday is a road contest against the Blizzard, capping off the season series between the two teams. That game can be found on Hockey TV starting at 7:10 PM. Then the Grizzlies are back home Monday afternoon at 1 PM for a date with the Coulee Region Chill. This game was originally set for Wednesday, January 22 at 11 AM but was moved up to Monday. All students are just $5 admission for this game. For more information, call the Grizzlies front office at 507-722-0415.
