WILLMAR — Vladimir Sorokin recorded his second consecutive hat trick and Nick Bucklin recorded his second consecutive impressive start for the Rochester Grizzlies.
The result was the Grizzlies sixth consecutive victory, a 7-1 rout of the Willmar WarHawks in a North American 3 Hockey League game on Saturday.
The Grizzlies (6-1-0) left little doubt who was the better team from the get-go. Rochester scored four goals in the first period, including all three of Sorokin’s, and one from Caden Duggan.
Oskar Stahl, Seth Bacon and Peyton Hart added a goal each in the second to cap the scoring.
Bucklin stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced in the win.
Richard Szabo recorded three assists, Matt DeRosa and Nathan Bennett had two, while Stahl, Duggan and Hart had one each.
Rochester plays at Breezy Point on Friday, then hosts Breezy at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.
