Team Gold Bests Team Black in 2019-20 Grizzlies All-Star Game

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The inaugural Rochester Grizzlies Main Camp ended Sunday morning with an all-star game which saw Team Gold defeat Team Black 9-4. Sunday’s contest meant the end of main camp, which started Friday evening. The camp ran three days at the Rochester Rec Center and had seven games played.

Team Gold got out to a fairly sizable lead at the end of one, going up 3-0 over Team Black. The game became closer at the halfway mark of the second period, with Team Black managing to cut the lead to 5-3. After the ice cut halfway through the second, Team Gold continued to take command and lead 7-4 after two.

Returning Grizzly Joey Fodstad, who was third on the team in goals last season with 20, scored for Team Gold. Grizzlies tender Garrett Smith scored a power play goal for Team Gold. Peyton Hart and John Rowell, other notable returners, each scored a goal for Team Black.

Head Coach Chris Ratzloff and Assistant Coach Mike Aikens will evaluate the results from camp and make roster decisions prior to the start of the preseason. Players will officially report back Sunday, August 25th and practices will start the next day.
