Zach Wiese Announces Commitment to University of Minnesota

ROCHESTER, MN – Grizzlies Goaltender and 2021-22 NA3HL Goalie of the Year, Zach Wiese has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I Hockey at the University of Minnesota.

“I am very honored and excited to announce my commitment to play hockey at the University of Minnesota” stated Wiese. I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates.”

Wiese becomes the first Rochester Grizzliy to commit to an NCAA Division 1. In his 2 seasons with the Grizzlies Wiese appeared in 51 career games and sported a 40-7-3 record, .934 save percentage, and a 1.84 goals-against average. Wiese’s performance during the 2021-22 campaign earned him the 2021-22 NA3HL Goaltender of the Year honor. With Wiese’s commitment, he becomes only the 6th player from the NA3HL to make the jump to the NCAA Division 1.
